HONORING MS. BEE

What is The Heart of Miss Bee, Inc.?

At The Heart of Miss Bee, Inc. (THOMB), our mission is simple yet powerful: to support women in their journey through grief.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we provide valuable grief education, resources, and a heartfelt emphasis on the benefits of journaling.

Honoring a mother's memory is a profoundly personal and meaningful experience. That's why we offer financial assistance to ensure every woman can afford a dignified outfit, allowing her to pay tribute with grace, regardless of her financial situation.

But our mission goes beyond just financial support. We believe in empowering women to navigate their grief with resilience and strength. That's why we focus on teaching women how to use a grief journal as a powerful tool for healing.

We provide free downloadable grief journals and complimentary access to our digital grief journal app, Ms. Bee.

At THOMB, we are here to walk alongside you, offering guidance, resources, and a compassionate community of support. Together, we can find solace, healing, and hope in the face of grief.

The Heart of Miss Bee, Inc. was founded by Kinyatta E. Gray and exists to honor the legacy of her mother, Beverly E. Carroll.

Additionally, we partner with InHer Bliss Life Coaching, which provides:

  • A free online grief support group.

  • Grief Coaching by a Certified Master Coach.

  • Multi-week grief support programs.

Our Approach to Grief at The Heart of Miss Bee, Inc.

At The Heart of Miss Bee, Inc., we embrace a Human-Centered approach to grief. While we acknowledge the pathological approach to grief, we firmly believe that grief is a natural response to loss that cannot be rushed, confined to a timetable or completed after stages. Most importantly, we don’t believe that grief is something to be fixed. Grief is deeply personal, and each individual's journey should be honored with love, patience, understanding, and kindness.

Our founder, Kinyatta E. Gray, found the most solace and understanding in her personal grief journey after reading It's Okay That You're Not Okay by Megan Devine. This pivotal moment led Kinyatta to view grief differently and embark on a path that emphasized carrying her grief with compassion, surrounded by love and support.

We hope that visitors to our website are open to exploring the various perspectives that "experts" offer on how bereaved individuals navigate grief. Ultimately, it is up to each of us to determine what resonates with our soul and supports our healing.

At The Heart of Miss Bee, Inc., we are here to nurture that journey, whatever form it may take.
