What We Do

What We Do at The Heart of Miss Bee, Inc.

At The Heart of Miss Bee, Inc., we are deeply committed to supporting women who have experienced the profound loss of their mothers. Our work is guided by four key pillars: Emotional Support, Education and Resources, Community Building, and Advocacy and Awareness. Through our compassionate programs and impactful initiatives, we seek to uplift, empower, and provide meaningful pathways for healing to women on their grief journey.

Emotional Support

Grieving the loss of a mother is one of the most difficult experiences a woman can face. We offer personalized emotional support through our Healing Hearts Listening Calls, where women who have lost their mothers can connect with a compassionate listener for a safe, non-judgmental space to share their grief. Additionally, our Healing Hearts Meetups provide opportunities for women to come together in a supportive, understanding environment, helping to alleviate the isolation that can accompany loss.

Education and Resources

Understanding grief and how it affects every aspect of life is crucial to navigating the healing process. Through our Complimentary Grief Journal Program and Healing Hearts Blog, we provide educational tools and resources to help women process their grief, reflect on their emotions, and move forward with greater clarity. Our free Living Without You grief journal is a guided resource for expressing feelings, tracking healing progress, and establishing new routines after loss.

Community Building

Grief can often make people feel isolated, but our commitment to community-building ensures that no woman has to navigate her grief alone. Our Healing Hearts Grief Support Group on Facebook offers a vibrant community where women can share their stories, support one another, and find comfort in the experiences of others. We also host Healing Hearts Meetups, fostering connections between women with shared experiences and offering ongoing peer support.

Advocacy and Awareness

We work tirelessly to raise awareness about the unique challenges faced by women grieving the loss of their mothers. Through our Her Final Bow program, we provide financial support to women facing the burden of planning and paying for their mother's funeral, ensuring they are not alone during such a difficult time. We also use platforms like our blog and partnerships with community organizations to promote grief literacy, educate the public about the importance of emotional support, and advocate for compassionate grief care.

Together, these four pillars reflect our mission to honor the legacy of Beverly E. Carroll (Miss Bee) by offering healing, understanding, and hope to women who need it most.
