How To Preserve A Loved One's Memory On Social Media
Preserving your loved one's social media presence is a very personal decision you may have to consider, but it can be a beautiful way to honor your loved one's memory.
When a loved one's social media accounts are memorialized honorably and respectfully, they create a lasting tribute to the ones we hold in our hearts forever.
In my experience, LinkedIn and Facebook have the most robust policies and procedures for account memorialization.
Here are some ways to memorialize your loved one's presence on social media:
Contact social media platforms and follow their procedures to request memorialization.
Add a memorial banner or frame.
Update the bio or about section.
Pin a memorial post.
Encourage friends/family/coworkers, etc., to share memories and tributes
Create a memorial page or group
Archive or download content
Review privacy settings to protect your loved one's account from unauthorized use and access.
What has your experience been with memorializing your loved ones' memories on social media?
